So they're going to reveal a new fighter for Pokken Tournament on Jan 15th, and the only hint so far has been that the character "ラ" is in the name.

To help narrow it down, this is the list of Pokemon with that character in their name:

So, is it a Gen VII Pokemon, or simply a new Mythical Pookemon for Gen VI? I'm leaning toward the latter, myself.

I bet it's another Mew clone with base 100 in all stats. Each gen ends up having at least one of those and I'm pretty sure Gen VI doesn't have one yet.

Most likely, yes. Besides, Gen 6 only has six legendaries so far (not including "bringing back the Gen 3 ones"), that's only 1 more than Gen 1 had! I'm expecting at least nine others :/

It's exactly how many Gen 2 had, which is the only other gen that didn't have too many legendaries to keep track of. I doubt Gen 6 will break the rule of having an event legendary Mew clone; so far that's as absolute as having a Fire/Water/Grass starting trio and Nintendo Pokemon loves repeating its trends.

My personal suspicions are that a) they will be Gen VII games (obv) and 2) the region will be based off of China, solely based on the whole "Sun and Moon" motif. I fully expect the first one to be true and the second to be pure speculation.

I am hoping, nay, praying to every god and demiurge that they bring back the player customization from X/Y. This is, in fact, at this point, literally the only thing I care about. If they don't, I will firebomb a Barbie Dream House.

Either way, I'm gonna be following this motherfucker like a red-tailed hawk hunting a drunk sorority girl while piloting an F-16.

Apparently you can now Pokemon on your mobile phone? Including "transfer to other people, straight from your phone!"

Consider how easy it is to get someone to hand you their phone.

I think the next step is clear: get a Team Rocket shirt, to wear under a coat, then go to [place with people who would have Pokemon phone - gamer bars I guess]. Ask to borrow someone's phone so you can [put your number in/get directions to a place]. Steal their pokemon. When they realise, open the coat and say what comes naturally.

Silly billy, those aren't skirts that Kojirō-kun is wearing, they're donuts.

(Also, I think Team Great Rocket is the best, since all of their dastardly deeds literally revolve around stealing trading cards.)

So apparently a bunch of Hollywood studios (Sony, WB, and Legendary) are in a bidding war for Pokemon's film rights. A Westernized Pokemon film can only be a bad thing.

So, Pokemon Sun + Moon have been announced.

Here is what we know so far:

Character customisation is back, this is excellent.
The starters are all adorable and cute and there are no losers on that front*
There's a man-made mythical pokemon that is presumably the "All 100s like Mew" event legendary, and it's yet another Fairy/Steel.

*We have yet to see which ones work out actually good in their final form.

I'm guessing the Lion is the man-made mythic fairy/steel. I hadn't heard about that specifically.

What's interesting to me about the starters is that this art-

is so conceptually dead-on, that it must be either early concepts or some fan's conceptualization after getting basic descriptions.
Edit: After actually going to the site of the artist mentioned, they were fakemon, not early concept art, but still.
